Supraland: Six Inches Under Arrives on Xbox Game Pass Today

Players can dive into the whimsical world of Supraland: Six Inches Under, available on Xbox Game Pass today. This announcement was a part of the Humble Games Showcase 2023. This release coincides with the removal of the original Supraland game from the platform.

Supraland: Six Inches Under is an engaging Metroidvania-style game viewed through a first-person camera. Although initially conceived as an expansion to the original Supraland, it ultimately evolved into its unique release. Fans of the original Supraland will undoubtedly appreciate this installment, which preserves the joy of exploring new locations, solving innovative puzzles, and experiencing cleverly designed levels

The development of “Six Inches Under” began as a DLC project for Supraland and a training exercise for new team members. However, it grew into a larger standalone game. Despite the original Supraland creator, David Münnich, playing a smaller role, the six-person development team took 27 months to complete the project—a longer period than the 16 months spent on the first game.

The game’s combat system diverges from the original and is considered experimental. Enemies are now more distinct from puzzles and exhibit diverse behavior, eliminating a one-size-fits-all approach to combat.

Supraland: Six Inches Under is now available on Xbox Game Pass for Xbox Series and Xbox One, and is also playable on PS4/PS5. While the game is already available on PC, a Nintendo Switch release is planned for Summer.
