Square Enix has released a new free demo for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, giving players an early chance to experience the upcoming action RPG ahead of its full launch on June 18, 2026.
The demo is available now on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Xbox on PC. According to Square Enix, all progress made in the demo will carry over to the full game once it launches next month.
Developed by Team Asano, the studio known for several HD-2D RPG projects, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales follows the journey of Elliot and his fairy companion Faie as they travel across the world of Philabieldia through multiple time periods. The game combines action-focused combat with exploration through enemy-filled environments, hidden caves, and ancient ruins.
Square Enix noted that the latest demo also includes several improvements based on feedback gathered from the earlier Debut Demo. These updates include faster base movement speed for Elliot, a newly added difficulty setting, and additional quality-of-life adjustments.
In combat, Elliot can wield seven different weapon types, including swords, chains, and sickles. Weapons can be customized using magicite, allowing players to tailor their fighting style. Faie also plays an active role during gameplay, assisting both in combat and exploration through various magical abilities.
The publisher also confirmed that physical and digital pre-orders are now live across all platforms. Players who pre-order the game will receive the Departure Pack, which includes bonus in-game items such as the Departure Brooch accessory and Attack Up sword magicite.
A Digital Deluxe Edition is also available and includes several exclusive accessories, including the Fairy Bangle, Cherry Blossom Anklet, and Roselle Ring. In addition, Square Enix is offering a physical Collector’s Edition exclusively through its online store. The package includes the base game, an original soundtrack, and a desk clock statue featuring Faie. A version of the Collector’s Edition without the game itself will also be sold separately.
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is rated T for Teen and launches on June 18, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
