The roadmap for Bethesda Game Studios’ upcoming action role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls VI, is reportedly unaffected By Xbox layoffs.
In his new video, content creator MrMattyPlays revealed that he submitted a series of questions to Bethesda Softworks following the company’s recent commitment to improve communication with fans. While many of his questions received non-answers, Bethesda Softworks did provide some updates on The Elder Scrolls VI, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, Fallout 76, and more.
Addressing reports that the recent Xbox layoffs may delay development of The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda mentioned that the upcoming action role-playing game’s roadmap remains unchanged. According to the content creator, the company responded by saying, “No, the road map is unaffected.”
In response to a question regarding whether support for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered had concluded following its release, the company replied, “There’s nothing we can talk about right now, but the team working on remasters is focused on the Nintendo Switch 2 launch, which has optimizations we hope to bring back to console and PC.”
Fallout 76 also appears to be unaffected by the recent layoffs. Responding to concerns about the live-service game’s future, Bethesda Softworks said its roadmap is on schedule, noting that it has released close to 70 free content updates and has another major update planned. It was also mentioned that the current plans for Fallout 76 remain unchanged and that more details will be shared when the development team is ready.
Lastly, Bethesda Softworks commented on the future of The Elder Scrolls Online. Although the content creator was aiming to learn how much of ZeniMax Online Studios is contributing to The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda instead reassured the MMO’s continued support, stating that “Zenamax Online Studios remains committed to supporting Elder Scrolls Online. The team has even more planned for the future.”
