The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas has received a new gameplay trailer ahead of its September 18 release, offering a closer look at the upcoming 3D platforming adventure. The new footage showcases the game’s four worlds, 23 levels, Grinch-themed gadgets, and local co-op featuring the Grinch and Max.
Players will travel across Who-ville, Mt. Crumpit, Who Wood, and the Grinch’s Cave as they work to collect ornaments and create what is described as Who-ville’s ultimate Christmas tree. Each area features its own platforming challenges and secrets, ranging from the icy terrain of Mt. Crumpit to the mushroom-filled paths of Who Wood and the waterfalls found inside the Grinch’s Cave.
The Grinch has several gadgets at his disposal to help him navigate the different environments. Rocket Skates allow him to speed through stages, while a Jetpack can be used to cross hazards and reach difficult areas. The Snowball Maker can also freeze enemies, with the Grinch’s candy cane providing another tool during the adventure.
The game also supports local co-op, allowing a second player to take control of Max. The two characters can combine their abilities to find collectibles, tackle environmental challenges, uncover secrets, and collect the ornaments needed to decorate the Christmas tree.
The 23 levels have been designed to be accessible to younger players, with the developers positioning the game as an adventure that families can play together. The new trailer also highlights locations inspired by the settings from Dr. Seuss’s original story.
The Grinch 2: Saving Christmas is being developed for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It will launch on September 18, 2026.
