Nintendo’s upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake has been leaked, as a fan has managed to get ahold of an early copy.

User Robnaratt34 recently took to Reddit to share an image of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake installed on their Nintendo Switch 2 home screen, suggesting that early copies of the game have leaked. They shared several screenshots and answered questions from fans. While the player is still relatively early in the adventure, having obtained the first Spiritual Stone and Zelda’s Lullaby, their responses have already revealed some interesting changes.

One of the biggest differences appears to be the expanded environments and more dynamic NPC behavior. According to Robnaratt34, several areas have been expanded, while NPCs now follow schedules and move around the world, similar to what players have experienced in Breath of the Wild. Kakariko Village has also received an overhauled layout, which the player describes as much better than the original.

Furthermore, Robnaratt34 confirmed that the transition between Hyrule Field and Lake Hylia is now seamless, with the original gate removed. Although they haven’t spotted any additional NPCs in the region so far, they noted that the addition of new structures makes it feel less empty than in the original.

The iconic opening sequence featuring Link riding Epona remains intact, as does the timing at which the main theme plays. Even familiar moments, such as King Zora sliding across his throne, have been preserved.

As for combat, Robnaratt34 mentioned that it feels a bit better than in the original. Controls are generally good, although the player is unsure how they feel about the addition of a jump attack. Meanwhile, the Hylian Shield appears to be tied to the camera like in Twilight Princess and Breath of the Wild.

Other improvements include better voice performances and ReDeads are grotesque-looking suitably zombie-like. As per Robnaratt34, the original puzzles and story appear largely intact, though they said that things are better explained here than in the original.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is set for release on November 5, 2026.
