Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is putting a new spin on one of Lara Croft’s most iconic enemies, with the latest developer documentary focusing on Jacqueline Natla. Amazon Games and Crystal Dynamics have released the seventh episode in their behind-the-scenes series ahead of the game’s February 12, 2027 release.
Natla will once again serve as Lara’s main adversary as the reimagining revisits the events of the original 1996 Tomb Raider. She is portrayed as an immortal former ruler of Ancient Atlantis who now runs Natla Technologies, while Lara attempts to uncover the secrets surrounding the lost civilisation.
Adriene Wilkinson will provide the voice and performance for the character in Legacy of Atlantis. In the new documentary, Wilkinson discusses why she believes Natla remains such an important part of the Tomb Raider story and how the character raises the stakes for Lara throughout the adventure.
The new episode is the latest in a series exploring how Crystal Dynamics is rebuilding the original Tomb Raider for modern hardware. Previous episodes have covered combat and progression, puzzles and traps, traversal and movement, the creatures of Peru, the reimagining of Peru and the new version of Lara Croft.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is being developed as a single-player, narrative-driven action-adventure based on Lara’s original adventure. The game will retain the globe-trotting search for Atlantis while updating its gameplay, environments and puzzles with modern mechanics.
Crystal Dynamics is also reworking major set pieces from the original game into larger cinematic encounters. This includes Lara’s famous confrontation with a T-Rex, alongside new surprises intended to expand on the original adventure.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis launches on February 12, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam and Nintendo Switch 2.
