Tormented Souls 2 Patch 1.5.0.2 Fixes Crashes and New Game Plus Bugs

Dual Effect and PQube have released a new public beta branch update for Tormented Souls 2, bringing a large set of bug fixes and gameplay improvements ahead of a wider rollout. Patch 1.5.0.2 mainly targets crashes, interaction issues, controller problems, and several New Game Plus-specific bugs.

The update also addresses achievement tracking problems and multiple issues tied to the Laser Eye weapon. If testing goes smoothly during the soft launch period, the patch is expected to release to all players on Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG next week, with console versions planned afterward.

General Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where players could not interact with the Church mirror after completing its puzzle unless they moved away and returned
  • Fixed the shotgun icon changing barrel numbers when using weapon shortcuts
  • Fixed the flashlight spinning without player input while examining it in the inventory
  • Fixed a crash occurring when entering Classroom 103
  • Fixed a Fatal Error crash while the game was paused in the background
  • Fixed the Type C controller remaining visible on screen
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from upscaling to 2K resolution
  • Fixed credit alignment issues on ultrawide displays

New Game Plus Fixes

  • Fixed the Laser Eye unlocking incorrectly with 10 batteries
  • Fixed the Laser Eye weapon becoming unavailable in the Workshop during later New Game Plus runs
  • Fixed the Laser Eye aiming incorrectly against Nautilus
  • Fixed the Laser Eye targeting upper mall areas instead of nearby enemies
  • Fixed the Laser Eye failing to work correctly against Dr Hertz at certain angles
  • Fixed the Flamethrower aiming to the side while targets were directly ahead

Achievements and Trophies

  • Fixed issues preventing some achievements from unlocking during gameplay

Public Beta Branch Instructions

Players can access the public beta branch by following these steps:

  • Right-click Tormented Souls 2 in the Steam Library
  • Select “Game versions & betas”
  • Choose the “public_beta” version
  • Open “Installed files”
  • Verify the integrity of game files
