The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered has reached a new all-time peak of 118,356 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing the game’s previous record of 103,329 players set more than six years ago during the surge surrounding Netflix’s The Witcher series.
The new Steam milestone comes shortly after the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered on September 29, 2026. The updated version is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2, with existing owners receiving the remastered version as a free upgrade.
The Witcher 3 Returns To Steam
The original Witcher 3 launched in 2015 and reached approximately 92,000 concurrent players on Steam at its initial peak. The game later experienced a major resurgence following the December 2019 premiere of Netflix’s The Witcher, eventually reaching more than 103,000 concurrent players in January 2020.
Another significant increase came with the release of the game’s Next-Gen update in December 2022, which pushed the Steam player count close to 90,000 concurrent players.
The latest release has now surpassed all of those previous peaks. With 118,356 concurrent players, The Witcher 3 Remastered has increased the previous Steam record by more than 15,000 players.
The Witcher 3 originally launched on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2015 before receiving a Nintendo Switch version in 2019. A major Next-Gen update followed in December 2022, adding upgraded visuals and other improvements to modern platforms.
The latest remastered release continues CD Projekt Red’s efforts to bring the acclaimed RPG to current hardware, with the Switch 2 version also providing a substantial upgrade over the original Nintendo Switch release.
