WUCHANG Sequel Announced With Original Creator Returning

by Greg Martin

505 Games has officially announced a WUCHANG sequel, confirming that original creator Xia Siyuan will return to lead development of the next entry in the action RPG series through his new studio, Indolphinity.

The new project is being developed under a publishing and development agreement between 505 Games and Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co., Ltd., which operates under the Indolphinity brand. The studio, founded by Xia Siyuan, will oversee the sequel’s creative direction, while 505 Games will fund development and handle global publishing.

The announcement follows Digital Bros Group’s acquisition of the WUCHANG intellectual property in April 2026. According to the companies, the new partnership marks the next phase of the franchise while keeping its creative direction in the hands of its original creator.

Released on July 24, 2025, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers attracted more than 131,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch and has since reached 5 million players worldwide across PC and console platforms. The companies said the game’s success established it as one of the leading Soulslike action RPGs in its category.

505 Games and Indolphinity said they are committed to preserving the series’ cultural identity by keeping future creative development rooted in China. The companies added that the sequel will continue to build on the franchise’s established vision while benefiting from 505 Games’ publishing support and resources.

As part of the agreement, Digital Bros Group will also establish a new subsidiary in Chengdu to support both development and publishing operations. The company said the move reflects its long-term investment in Chinese game development and its commitment to supporting the WUCHANG franchise.

Digital Bros Group Co-CEO and co-founder Raffi Galante said the company sees WUCHANG as a long-term global franchise and believes partnering with Xia Siyuan and Indolphinity is the natural next step for the series. He added that the goal is to preserve the original creative vision while providing the development team with the resources needed to reach players worldwide.

Xia Siyuan said the partnership allows the studio to continue creating games rooted in Chinese culture while maintaining its original creative ambitions. He also said the team will continue listening to player feedback as development moves forward, promising that the next chapter of WUCHANG will deliver a more polished and complete experience.
