Microsoft and Discord are expanding their ongoing partnership with a new set of shared benefits aimed at Xbox Game Pass subscribers and Discord Nitro members. The announcement builds on several years of collaboration between the two platforms, which previously introduced features such as Discord voice chat integration on Xbox consoles and direct game streaming to Discord users.
As part of the latest update, Discord Nitro memberships will now include a starter edition of Xbox Game Pass in supported regions. According to Xbox, this is intended to make it easier for Discord users to access and discover games through the subscription service. Discord has also introduced new integration features that allow users to launch supported Game Pass titles directly from Discord when viewing a friend’s activity or game stream.
The updated functionality adds a “Play” button within Discord, enabling users to jump directly into compatible games through Xbox Game Pass. The feature is designed to streamline access between social interactions and gameplay, reinforcing the focus on connected multiplayer experiences across devices.
Microsoft also confirmed that Xbox Game Pass subscribers will soon receive Discord Nitro related benefits as part of the partnership. These additions are expected to roll out later this month for eligible users. Planned rewards include 250 Discord Orbs each month, a 1.2x multiplier for Orbs earned through Quests, and automatic discounts within the Discord Shop.
The companies state that additional details regarding eligibility and access to these features will be shared closer to launch. With the continued integration of Game Pass and Discord features, both platforms appear focused on creating a more interconnected ecosystem centered around social gaming and cross-platform accessibility.
