Microsoft has revealed the first wave of Xbox Game Pass September games, with RuneScape: Dragonwilds, SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage among the upcoming additions. The latest update also includes new Game Pass titles arriving throughout the month, alongside several games scheduled to leave the service on September 15.

The first new addition is already available, with Shelldiver joining Game Pass on September 1 for Cloud, Console and PC. The incremental game follows a turtle who fishes for jellyfish and sells them from a small shop, while players can upgrade their equipment, explore different underwater environments and help the local turtle community.

SpeedRunners 2: King of Speed arrives on September 3 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Available on Game Pass from day one, the competitive platformer supports races with up to 8 players online, with players using movement skills, grappling hooks and power-ups while attempting to knock their opponents off-screen.

Dice a Million follows on September 4 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC. The roguelike deck builder tasks players with building a collection of dice and using cards, rings and other abilities to chase increasingly high rolls.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War joins Game Pass on September 8 across Cloud, Console and PC. Its single-player campaign takes players around the world, including locations such as East Berlin, Vietnam, Turkey and the Soviet KGB headquarters, while featuring historical figures and events.

The Royal Writ arrives on September 10 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC. The medieval roguelike deck builder centres on building an army and sending troops into battles on a dynamic battlefield, with fallen heroes becoming part of the player’s kingdom’s history.

Also launching on September 10 is Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The fighting game introduces the World Stage single-player mode alongside online multiplayer with cross-play and rollback netcode, as well as expanded training and replay features.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is the biggest addition of the wave, arriving on September 15 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Set on RuneScape’s forgotten continent of Ashenfall, the cooperative survival game has players gathering resources, building, crafting and developing their skills while attempting to uncover ancient secrets and eventually confront the Dragon Queen.

TCG Card Shop Simulator will also reach its full 1.0 release on September 15 across Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld and PC. The game is leaving Game Preview and will let players run their own card shop, build Tetramon TCG decks and host tournaments.

EA Sports NHL 27 is also getting a 10-hour early access trial through EA Play on September 4 for Console. The trial includes the new Connected Franchise mode and an updated broadcast package, with progress carrying over if players purchase the full game.

Game Pass subscribers can also claim an exclusive monthly reward pack for Aniimo from September 16. The pack includes 1 Aniipod Ultra, 15 Growth Flowers and 300 Glimmer.

Several games will leave the Game Pass library on September 15. These include Commandos: Origins, Cricket 24, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Cells, Deep Rock Galactic Survivor, Frostpunk 2, Mullet Madjack, Spiritfarer, Superliminal and Train Sim World 5.
