ATLUS has opened pre-orders for Metaphor: ReFantazio on Nintendo Switch 2, with the acclaimed fantasy RPG set to launch on the console on November 12, 2026. The publisher has also started a new character trailer series, with the game’s protagonist serving as the first character featured.
Originally released in 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio was one of the year’s most highly acclaimed games, earning a 94 Metacritic score. It also picked up awards for Best Role-Playing Game, Best Narrative and Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2024.
The RPG became ATLUS’ fastest-selling game after moving 1 million units on its launch day. The Switch 2 version will now give owners of Nintendo’s latest hardware an opportunity to experience the award-winning title.
Metaphor: ReFantazio takes players into a fantasy world filled with mystery, where a kingdom is approaching collapse. Players must confront their fears, overcome the challenges facing the kingdom and build relationships with allies as they work to determine their own fate.
The newly announced character trailer series will provide a closer look at the game’s cast, beginning with its protagonist. ATLUS has not provided further details on the remaining characters that will be featured in the series.
Metaphor: ReFantazio launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on November 12, 2026. The game is already available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4.
