Bandai Namco’s Xenosaga series is set to return in a new form, as G-MODE has announced a remastered release of Xenosaga The Pied Piper for modern platforms.

The reveal came via G-MODE’s official social media account, confirming that the title will be released under the G-MODE Archives Plus label for Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The game was originally launched in 2006 for Japanese feature phones, making this its first appearance on contemporary hardware.

Xenosaga: The Pied Piper is a spin-off entry connected to the broader Xenosaga storyline. It follows Ziggy, a key character from the main series, during his earlier life as a human named Jan Sauer. The narrative is set roughly 100 years before the events of Xenosaga Episode I and centers on his work in a federal counterterrorism unit as he tracks a serial killer known as Voyager.

The gameplay retains a traditional turn-based RPG structure, presented from a 2D overhead perspective. Progression unfolds through a mix of dialogue sequences and cinematic scenes, with battles taking place in a virtual environment tied to the story. The original script was written by series creators Tetsuya Takahashi and Soraya Saga.

According to the announcement, the remaster will remain faithful to the original version and will not introduce additional features such as new languages or achievements. A Steam store page for the title is now live, with further release details expected at a later date.
