Playtonic Games has released a new performance update for Yooka-Replaylee on Nintendo Switch 2, introducing a 60 FPS mode aimed at improving gameplay smoothness and responsiveness.

Announcing the update, the studio stated, “Yooka-Replaylee now runs at 60FPS on Nintendo Switch 2, with a brand-new performance mode available right now.” The addition follows player feedback, with the developer noting that the change was made after “tremendous outcry” from the community.

The performance mode is designed to enhance platforming by delivering faster and more responsive movement, alongside smoother traversal across the game’s environments. The update is available immediately for players on Nintendo Switch 2.

Yooka-Replaylee originally launched on October 9, 2025, as an enhanced version of the 2017 platformer. Developed by Playtonic Games, the title features upgraded visuals, a revised camera system, and expanded content, including a larger number of collectibles known as Pagies.

The game follows Yooka and Laylee as they explore colorful worlds in an effort to stop the antagonist Capital B, maintaining its focus on open ended exploration and classic collectathon gameplay.
