The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is followed closely by the announcement trailer for Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which gained over 1 million views on YouTube. Similarly, Mario & Luigi: Brothership also received over a million views on the platform.

The Legend of Zelda fans previously had the chance to play as Zelda in Koei Tecmo and Omega Force’s hack-and-slash game, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. They have since been asking for a new entry in the series where Zelda is the protagonist, and it isn’t surprising to see that the announcement of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom during the recent Nintendo Direct has generated a lot of interest. Prior rumors had also hinted at the game’s existence. Twitter/X user GenosPapa had dropped a hint in this regard, which was conveyed via a hidden message.

The Twitter/X user’s tweet read, “Tears of the kingdom Had a great zelda design I think we are Severely overdue for a game where zelda Is the main character. Seems to me A Hyrule adventure like that Is something fans want, Nows The time.” Certain alphabets in this passage were deliberately written in capital, and putting them together revealed the message, “THIS IS A HINT”.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is set for release exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. The game features an art style that is similar to the 2019 remake of Link’s Awakening. The story involves Link disappearing into a mysterious rift while rescuing Zelda from Ganon. Similar rifts appear across Hyrule, causing others to disappear as well. With the help of a mysterious fairy named Tri, who provides her with the Tri Rod, Zelda embarks on a quest to save Link and Hyrule.
