A new technical comparison video for 007 First Light has detailed how the game performs across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PS5 Pro, and PC, highlighting both the strengths and limitations of each platform.
According to the analysis, the standard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions both include Quality and Performance display modes. Quality Mode targets 30fps while increasing overall visual settings, whereas Performance Mode prioritizes 60fps gameplay.
The comparison notes that the largest visual differences between the two modes appear in shadow quality, reflections, and rendering resolution. Performance between the base consoles is said to be largely similar, though the PS5 reportedly holds a slight advantage over Xbox Series X in Performance Mode due to fewer frame drops during gameplay. The report also states that these drops are relatively infrequent overall.
PS5 Pro appears to deliver the strongest console presentation in the comparison. The upgraded system reportedly runs a single mode comparable to Quality Mode visuals while maintaining a locked 60fps experience. The video also points to Sony’s PSSR technology as a major contributor to image sharpness, with the PS5 Pro version showing noticeably cleaner image quality than the standard console releases.
On the PC side, the comparison describes 007 First Light as well optimized across a range of hardware. Testing reportedly showed an RTX 3050 achieving an average of around 40fps at medium settings without major issues. IO Interactive’s Glacier Engine was also praised for its DLSS implementation, with the upscaling solution described as the strongest option available in terms of both image quality and performance gains.
The analysis concludes by describing 007 First Light as a technically solid release that performs well regardless of platform or hardware configuration.
Developed and published by IO Interactive, 007 First Light launched on May 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned for release later this year. The game presents an original James Bond origin story centered on a 26-year-old recruit beginning his journey within MI6.
