New Persona 6 Rumor Claims Game Is Feature Complete but Delayed Internally to 2027

A new Persona 6 rumor is making the rounds online, claiming Atlus has internally delayed the long-awaited RPG to 2027 despite the project allegedly being feature complete.

The latest claims surfaced through posts shared on social media platform X, with additional context provided by leaker Extas1s. According to the rumor, Persona 6 will feature two protagonists described as a black and red-haired girl alongside a blonde male character.

Extas1s stated that the information reportedly originates from China’s Xiaohongshu network, which they described as a recurring source of accurate Sega and Atlus leaks in the past due to outsourcing ties connected to art production and testing in Asia. The leaker added that knowledge of the protagonists’ hair colors could indicate promotional artwork is already circulating internally within Sega and Atlus.

The rumor also aligns with some earlier reports surrounding Persona 6’s development. Prior reports from insider Nate the Hate claimed the game was not in development hell and that development was progressing internally at Atlus’ P Studio. At the time, the insider suggested Atlus may have simply chosen not to reveal the project yet despite earlier expectations surrounding The Game Awards 2025.

Additional claims from insider ryanfrombronx, previously known online as Midori, stated in late 2024 that Persona 6 had already moved into localization while DLC development had also started progressing. The same source previously alleged that the game’s central theme would revolve around Yin and Yang and hinted at the possibility of dual protagonists, something that now appears to line up with the newest rumor.

None of the latest claims have been officially confirmed by Atlus or Sega. Persona 6 has yet to receive a formal reveal.
