IO Interactive has confirmed that 007 First Light has officially gone gold ahead of its scheduled launch later this month.
The announcement was shared through the studio’s official social media channels. “007 First Light has gone gold!” IO Interactive posted on X. “See you on May 27th for this re-imagined origin story.”
The developer also reminded players that pre-orders include a free Deluxe Edition upgrade.
The milestone indicates that development of the launch version of the game has been completed and is ready for manufacturing and distribution ahead of release.
Earlier this month, IO Interactive also released updated PC specifications for the game, outlining performance targets across multiple hardware tiers. The newly added Ultra preset targets 4K gameplay at more than 200 FPS using DLSS 4.5 technologies and requires an RTX 5080 alongside 32GB of RAM.
Lower-end configurations target 1080p gameplay at both 30 FPS and 60 FPS depending on hardware, while the Enthusiast preset is designed for 1440p at 60 FPS on high settings using GPUs such as the RTX 4070 or Radeon RX 7800 XT.
007 First Light is scheduled to launch on May 27, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is planned to release later during the summer.
Developed and published by IO Interactive, the game serves as an original James Bond origin story following a younger 26-year-old Bond before he earns his “00” status. The project combines stealth gameplay, cinematic action, and vehicle sequences while presenting a standalone interpretation of the iconic spy separate from previous film adaptations.
