007 First Light Quality Mode Can Apparently Run At 60 FPS On Base PS5

IO Interactive’s action-adventure game, 007 First Light, can apparently run at 60 fps in Quality mode on a base PS5.

PS5 scene developer _zer0day__ has released an unofficial patch for that unlocks the frame rate in Quality mode on a jailbroken PS5, allowing players to experience the game at up to 60 fps on a base console rather than requiring a more expensive PS5 Pro to do the same. Officially, the console is able to run the game only at 30 fps in Quality mode and at 60 fps in Performance mode.

According to the developer, the demo on their YouTube channel features actual 007 First Light gameplay captured directly from a base PS5. The patch challenges the game’s configured performance limits, showing that the console is capable of achieving more than what developer IO Interactive permits. The video can be seen below.

The release follows the developer’s prior work on Marvel’s Wolverine, and they continue to investigate whether additional PS5 titles can run at higher frame rates than their default configurations allow. They also mentioned a 120 fps target as an area of ongoing experimentation. Those using a jailbroken PS5 that are interested in installing the custom patch can find it through the developer’s Github page.

In related news, the recently released update 1.3.0 added Extended Operations to 007 First Light, the first major free DLC. It brings New Game Plus, Photo Mode, a new 00 difficulty, expanded gadget flexibility, and new TacSim content including Jungle Heist and Valhalla Protocol. The patch also includes over 700 fixes and improvements covering crashes, progression blockers, combat, weapons, AI, visuals, audio, localisation, UI, and mission-specific issues. Weapon handling animations have also been refined across the arsenal, while several new rewards, outfits, and TacSim weapons have been added.

007 First Light was released on May 27, 2026, across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is set to arrive on March 18, 2027.
