Details regarding the review embargo for IO Interactive’s upcoming action-adventure game, 007 First Light, have been revealed.
Fans of James Bond movies will soon be able to find out what critics have to say about 007 First Light. The upcoming title delivers an original narrative that draws inspiration from the novels and short stories. The game will put players in the role of a young James Bond (Patrick Gibson), who is tasked to complete a mission that will grant him his 00 status. The story will also feature re-imagined versions of known Bond characters, including M (Priyanga Burford), Q (Alastair Mackenzie), and Miss Moneypenny (Kiera Lester).
What Is the Review Embargo Date for 007 First Light?
According to Metacritic, the review embargo for 007 First Light is set to be lifted “toward the beginning of next week,” which aligns with the game’s release date on May 26, 2026.
Additionally, the pre-load for 007 First Light will be live for PlayStation 5 tomorrow on May 24, 2026, with a download size of 50.799 GB. The pre-load will come with the latest version i.e. 01.005.000 , pre-installed for anyone who pre-ordered a digital copy, though an update may be rolled out closer to the game’s launch. Meanwhile, those who purchased a physical copy will be required to download a day one update.
