Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is out now for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Here’s a look at the resolution and frame rate of this new version.

Those who already own the game on PS4 or Xbox One should be able to get a free upgrade to the PS5 and Xbox Series versions. Although, according to the early reports, PS4 users are having trouble claiming this free Crash Bandicoot 4 PS5 upgrade. If you download the latest update file, it is possible to transfer the save data from the PS4 to the PS5 version. In the case of the Xbox One, this is done automatically thanks to Cloud saves.

If you own the game on PS4 or Xbox One, the file size of the current-generation version will come as a surprise since it is almost cut to half, aside from that, the visual different between the PS5 and Xbox Series doesn’t appear to be that noticeable at all.

Both versions run at a dynamic 4K resolution while Xbox Series X appears to maintains it closer to 4K compared to the PS5. As for the performance, they are almost locked to 60 FPS but there are reports from some users that the Xbox Series X version can suffer from stutters and performance issues in some of the later stages. This can be chalked up as a bug instead of genuine performance issues.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is also available on the Nintendo Switch where it runs at a lower resolution and frame rate. Overall, this is a decent port that takes advantage of the hardware capability of the current generation consoles like the Haptics and 3D Audio of the PS5, or the hybrid nature of the Nintendo Switch with a portable and docked mode. The game was first released for the Xbox One and PS4 back in October.
