Norman Reedus has teased a sequel to Death Stranding in a slip-of-tongue that suggests that Kojima Productions is negotiating with the actor.
Death Stranding was a popular game that sold more than five million copies. Alone for a major IP, that would be considered a moderate success, but since Death Stranding was a new IP with a unique form of gameplay, it can be considered a major success.
IGN Brazil has shared a quote from Norman Reedus that suggests that a sequel is potentially in development at Kojima Productions.
During an interview with reporter Vitória Pratini of AdoroCinema, Reedus mentions a second game. “I think we’re doing a second Death Stranding, [The game] is on negotiations. So… Yay!”
This interview was conducted as part o a roundtable for the 11th season of The Walking Dead. Norman Reedus plays Daryl Dixon in the show, which was his career’s breakout hit. Reedus has previously worked with Kojima Productions on the ill-fated P.T demo, which was supposed to be a teaser for the full reveal of Silent Hills.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut is currently confirmed for the PS5 and will be released exclusively for it. The original game is also available for PC and PS4. The Director’s Cut brings additional new content including new gameplay modes, story missions, and a lot of quality-of-life improvements. It will also support the PS5 with a native version.
