One of the reasons they are bringing the game to so many platforms is to increase the player base. This is why it is being released on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. FF5 was previously exclusive to the Nintendo Wii U, while the other Fatal Frame games were also exclusive to either PlayStation consoles, or other Nintendo hardware.

“The reason we increased the number of supported hardware is because we want more players to play the game, ” said Keisuke Kikuchi.

Fatal Frame 5: Maiden of Black Water is set to launch for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 28, 2021.
