Guilty Gear -Strive- Has Sold More Than Half Million Copies

Arc System Works has shared an update on the state of Guilty Gear -Strive- also confirming the sales or the game have exceeded half a million copies.

GG -Strive- was released in early June so this is a remarkable result especially for a niche fighting game. While Arc System Works has found a lot of success working with third-party franchises, Strive is a series that they own and have continued to develop for every new generation of consoles.

As we reported earlier, Guilty Gear -Strive- just looks stylishly beautiful with a solid 60 FPS running at 4K on the PS5. The game was also released for the PS4 and PC. While a sales breakdown was not given, SteamSpy has listed the users between 200K to 500K which is impressive for a new fighting game on PC.

Compared to the big hitters like Tekken and Street Fighter, Guilty Gear is still a fairly modest series in terms of sales. The fact that it continues to sell bodes well for it in the future. It had achieved 300K sales in three days and the new update has pushed it past the half-million mark.

Arc System Works has also shared the date for the announcement of the first DLC fighter in Guilty Gear -Strive-. You can watch the reveal of this fighter live on YouTube. Expect to see it shown at 07/20 6 PM PST or 07/21 3 AM CEST.

Guilty Gear -Strive- is available now for the PS4, PS5, and PC. You can read our review of the game to find out more details on it.
