No More Heroes 3 Runs at 720p and Unlocked 60 FPS On Switch, Drops to 20 FPS In City

No More Heroes 3 is an example of a game that desperately needs to run on a better platform because it struggles to perform well on the Nintendo Switch.

When playing No More Heroes 3 in docked mode on the big screen, the game barely manages to render at 720p. The frame rate is also all over the place with an unlocked cap that targets 60 FPS but rarely, if any, manages to hit it. Most of the time, the frame rate behaves erratically switching between 30 to 60 FPS.

Due to the low resolution, the game doesn’t look that great with jagged edges and blurry visuals. It brings to memory the PS3 and Xbox 360 generation, or perhaps that was the intention of the developers.

The art style helps somewhat to mitigate the issues and doesn’t make it practically unplayable, but it could benefit a lot with a higher resolution and solid frame rate.

No More Heroes 3 is available now on the Nintendo Switch. The first two No More Heroes games were also ported to the Nintendo Switch first followed by a PC release, so if this was any indication, this could turn out to be a timed exclusive as well.
