by Ali Haider

Resident Evil 2 has multiple difficulty modes which are tailored to get the best experience for the user depending on their play style. All the known Resident Evil 2 difficulty modes are outlined in this article.

Capcom has recently announced that Resident Evil 2 will get a new gameplay mode called The Ghost Survivors. They also confirmed classic costumes that will give Leon and Claire their original character model from PS1. Aside from that, there are multiple ways to play through the game.

What Are Resident Evil 2 Difficulty Modes and What Do They Do?

There are a total of three difficulty modes that can be picked from the beginning.

  • Assisted difficulty mode (Easy)
  • Standard difficulty mode (Normal)
  • Hardcore difficulty mode (Hard)

Resident Evil 2 Assisted difficulty mode is the easiest out of the bunch. You will get automatic aim assist, weaker enemies, and you can also regenerate health without using herbs.

Resident Evil 2 Standard difficulty mode is self-explanatory. It is the default gameplay mode that has standard damage and needs health recovery but offers auto-saving at select points and without the need for Ink Ribbons.

Resident Evil 2 Hardcore difficulty mode is for series veterans. It restricts saving to just Ink Ribbons, which are limited. There is no autosave in this mode and enemies are stronger so they will take more damage and kill you quickly.

These are the only known difficulty modes for the game, but if there is any extra hidden difficulty, we will likely find out about it once the game is out later this week and fans had a chance to go through it with every difficulty mode. Regardless, if you are a fan of the series, there should be more than enough options here to keep you satisfied.
