Total War: Three Kingdoms has become a major success on Steam. After making its debut with a series high 160K concurrent player count, the game has now managed to surpass it and hit an all-time peak of 190K concurrent players, placing it in the Top 20 best launch on Steam for a new game.
Total War series has been always popular on PC but this is the first time the series has seen such a dramatic growth from its last entry. The game was developed by Creative Assembly and published by Sega. The reviews so far are positive with both critics and players praising the game.

Total War: Three Kingdoms launched on May 23, 2019, on Steam and hit the peak of more than 190K concurrent players on May 26. It has made the game claim a place in the Top 20 best launch on Steam. If we count out the games that were made free, or given in a promotion, then Total War makes the cut to Top 15 best launch on Steam.
It is currently placed at number 17 among the top 20 concurrent player count on Steam that is dominated by DOTA, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.

Total War: Three Kingdoms also set a new record for the most amount of pre-orders on Steam. It had the highest pre-orders among the Total War series, as confirmed by Rob Bartholomew, Chief Product Officer at Creative Assembly in an interview to GamesIndustry Biz.
