Microsoft has confirmed that their Xbox Showcase that is scheduled for this Tokyo Game Show will only focus on current-generation games.
In a surprise move, it was revealed that Microsoft will host an Xbox Showcase at Tokyo Game Show. This is one of the rare times when Microsoft is hosting such an event especially when Sony currently has none planned.

It was speculated that they might reveal news about their next-generation consoles including Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. However, Microsoft has now set expectations clearly with a tweet that confirms this won’t be the case.
The official Xbox Twitter account has shared that this event will be a celebration of Japanese games and creators. It will also share details on updates fo Microsoft Flight Simulator, focus on Japanese Minecraft community creativity, and will be broadcast in Japanese only. It won’t have any next-generation news.

If you were hoping to see new games announced at the event, it seems far-fetched for now. However, if you are a subscriber of Xbox Game Pass, it is possible that there might be new announcements during that event, especially from Japanese publishers.
Microsoft will launch the Series X this November. They are also releasing a cheaper Series S but so far there hasn’t been any official confirmation of a second console along with Xbox Series X. The console will compete with Sony’s PlayStation 5 which is also scheduled to launch in Holiday 2020. Currently, no pricing information has been shared for both next-generation consoles.
