Marvel Studios has released the first official Avengers: Doomsday trailer, offering fans their first look at the next major Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover ahead of its December release.
The trailer showcases the film’s expansive lineup of heroes, including members of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and Thor. It also provides the first official look at Doctor Doom and ends by confirming the return of Steve Rogers.
The preview further reveals that the X-Men will join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time in a major crossover event. Marvel also released the film’s official synopsis alongside the trailer.
According to the synopsis, “Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday follows beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they’re set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.”
Marvel also confirmed the film’s extensive ensemble cast. Avengers: Doomsday stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Pedro Pascal, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Wyatt Russell, Channing Tatum, Simu Liu, Ian McKellen, Tom Hiddleston, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, Joseph Quinn, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Letitia Wright, Lewis Pullman, Kelsey Grammer, Kathryn Newton, Danny Ramirez, Winston Duke, Alan Cumming, Hannah John-Kamen, Rebecca Romijn, Mabel Cadena and Tenoch Huerta Mejia.
The film is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and produced by Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Jonathan Schwartz.
Scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 18, 2026, Avengers: Doomsday is the 39th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the opening chapter of Phase Six. The story brings together heroes from three separate universes as they unite against Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., in a multiversal conflict that also marks the arrival of the X-Men alongside Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and the Fantastic Four.
