As mentioned above, those who have pre-ordered a digital copy of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 can pre-load the game starting from September 1, 2023. The digital pre-load should come with the latest update pre-installed. For the uninitiated, Baldur’s Gate 3, is the third main entry in the Baldur’s Gate series, which is based on the Dungeons & Dragons tabletop role-playing system. Initially, an early access version of the game was launched on October 6, 2020 for macOS, Windows, and Stadia. The Stadia version faced cancellation due to the streaming service’s subsequent closure.

Baldur’s Gate 3 features both single-player and cooperative multiplayer elements. Players can create characters and form parties. Additionally, they can team up online with others for multiplayer adventures. The game features turn-based combat, following D&D 5th Edition rules, similar to Larian’s previous titles Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II. The game’s story is set 120 years after Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn and months after Baldur’s Gate: Descent into Avernus. Darkness looms as mind flayers invade Faerun.
