Barbie Rewind Brings 16 Classic Barbie Games Back

by Greg Martin

Digital Eclipse and Atari have unveiled Barbie Rewind, a new title that combines a DreamHouse decorating experience with a collection of 16 classic Barbie video games from the 1990s and early 2000s.

The game is set to launch later in 2026 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Pre-orders for both digital and physical editions are now available.

At the center of Barbie Rewind is a new design-focused experience that allows players to customize and renovate Barbie’s iconic DreamHouse. Players will be able to choose from multiple exterior styles and decorate rooms using more than 250 furniture pieces, decorations, and accessories inspired by Barbie playsets released throughout the brand’s 65-year history.

Progression is tied directly to the included retro game collection. Completing objectives and achievements in the classic titles unlocks additional items and customization options for the DreamHouse. Players will also receive design requests from Barbie and other familiar characters, earning experience points and expanding their decorating choices as they complete various tasks.

The package includes 16 classic Barbie games originally released between 1991 and 2007. Among the featured titles are Barbie Pet Rescue for Game Boy Color and Barbie Horse Adventures: Blue Ribbon Race for Game Boy Advance. Digital Eclipse has updated the games to ensure compatibility with modern hardware.

One notable inclusion is Barbie: Vacation Adventure, a game originally developed for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo that was never officially released. Barbie Rewind marks the first time the title will be available to the public.

The game also features a digital lookbook that explores Barbie’s history through various DreamHouse designs and toy lines, while characters such as Ken, Teresa, and Christie make appearances throughout the experience.

Physical editions will be available for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch, while a Deluxe Edition is being offered exclusively for Nintendo Switch. The premium version includes a numbered collector’s box, a poster, and an exclusive Barbie doll dressed in an Atari-themed outfit.

Barbie Rewind will be available digitally for $29.99. Standard physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch will also retail for $29.99, while the Deluxe Edition will be priced at $59.99.

The game is scheduled to launch later this year on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
