Beast of Reincarnation Update Adds Ultrawide Support and Frame Generation

Beast of Reincarnation has received its third patch, adding ultrawide monitor support and DLSS and FSR frame generation options. The update also introduces more skippable events and cutscenes, allows Charms to be sold, and improves healing and several combat systems.

The patch also addresses numerous bugs across gameplay, performance, menus, and PC functionality. Several performance optimisations have been introduced, while additional balance and presentation changes are planned for future updates.

New Features and Improvements

  • Added ultrawide monitor support for most ultrawide and super ultrawide monitors.
  • Added DLSS and FSR frame generation options.
    • These options can be enabled through the settings menu.
  • Added the ability to skip eligible events and cutscenes by holding the interact button.
    • Added a Skip indicator to the bottom right of the screen.
    • Made certain cutscenes before the final boss fight skippable.
    • Additional cutscenes will be made skippable in future updates.
  • Added the ability to sell Charms.
  • Made Helm Splitter available by default.
    • The skill can still be upgraded through the skill tree.
  • Added active Spirit Stone effect information to the equipment screen.
  • Added Set to Max and Reset options when selecting quantities in the Shop.
  • Added unique visuals to Koo-exclusive item icons.
  • Added controller vibration to Execution Kills and Assassinations.
  • Adjusted controller vibration intensity on PS5.
  • Changed the boss battle in The Great Wall Terraces to an event battle.
  • Adjusted camera presentation during boss battles.
  • Adjusted Counterattack execution timing.
  • Attacks from behind can now damage shield-bearing enemies.
  • Adjusted Crow-type enemy attacks so they no longer generate acid damage fields.
  • Adjusted collision with invisible walls in various areas.

Healing and Combat Fixes

  • Healing items can now be used immediately after taking damage.
  • Reduced the duration of movement slowdown while Emma is healing.
  • Fixed an issue where elite enemies failed to spawn in the Fuji Frontier Zone.
  • Fixed an issue where elite enemies could recover full health too quickly after losing sight of Emma.
  • Fixed an issue where certain Nushi attacks failed to connect.
  • Fixed an issue where Emma’s landing position after jumping could become misaligned.
  • Fixed an issue where Koo’s presence could obstruct the player’s field of view.
  • Fixed an issue involving Koo’s Emergency Medicine ability that could desynchronise the actual inventory count from the UI and allow the L2 button to be repeatedly pressed.
  • Fixed an issue where parrying during an enemy’s continuous attack sequence after Koo’s FP reached maximum could cause the bottom-right icon and gauge to flicker.

Performance Improvements

  • Optimised the performance of boss attack effects.
  • Optimised command processing for Bloom Arts.
  • Optimised the performance of status effect visuals.
  • Fixed an issue where upscaling features were unavailable on the Microsoft Store and Xbox PC versions.

Menu and UI Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where text appeared shrunken in certain areas.
  • Fixed an issue in the Wandering Merchant and Brad Sell menus where the Set Maximum Number button did not respond for items with a quantity of 99.
  • Fixed an issue where re-equipping a Spirit Stone in the same slot when the owned and equipped counts matched could unequip Spirit Stones in other slots.
  • Fixed an issue where the confirm key did not respond on the Return Results screen for PC players using a keyboard.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking Save Game or Special Content with a mouse immediately after opening the Bed Menu could trigger Rest Until Morning.

PC Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where alt-tabbing while switching areas in the Cleanse Walker departure menu could prevent fast travel.
  • Fixed an issue where confirming the New Game+ data transfer screen with keyboard and mouse, then moving the cursor with a controller, could cause a soft lock.

Future Updates

  • Added plans to introduce an option to toggle post-processing effects on and off.
  • Further expanded the list of skippable events and cutscenes.
  • Improved event and cutscene presentation.
  • Added planned balance adjustments for Blade Arts, Bloom Arts, and other systems.
  • Added planned adjustments to water submersion detection.
  • Added further adjustments to invisible wall collision.

Beast of Reincarnation v1.0.9 is available now for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The game was developed by Game Freak and published by Fictions.
