Ubisoft’s action-adventure game, Beyond Good and Evil 2, is still in active development, according to Associate Narrative Director Rik Godwin.

Ubisoft Bordeaux Associate Narrative Director Rik Godwin took to BlueSky to share that he has been working on Beyond Good and Evil 2 in a support/consultant role for the past few months. He added that he was permitted to mention this publicly, suggesting that a new trailer or gameplay reveal may be on the horizon.

“Odd sort of non-announcement but for the past few months I’ve been working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 in a support/consultant role,” said Godwin. “I am allowed to say this, I checked.”

The Game Awards 2026 will take place later this year on December 10 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. There’s a possibility that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will make an appearance during the show. Last month, content creator Attack The Backlog mentioned hearing from insider Nash Weedle that the game may have received a major overhaul.

According to the insider, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will no longer retain its existing name, though they didn’t have information on the new title. He also claimed that many changes have been made to the game since it was last shown to the public. In addition to the alleged title change, he also believes a more recent build may be shown at The Game Awards 2026.

Weedle also discussed the possibility of Beyond Good and Evil 2 coming to Switch 2. According to him, the game is being developed on “an engine that is extremely, extremely scalable,” suggesting that while a port may not be in active development, there would be no technical hurdle in getting it to run on Nintendo’s current-gen console.

Back in December, 2024, during an interview, series creator Michel Ancel shared details regarding the issues faced by Ubisoft Montpellier during the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2. Read about it here.
