Black Ops Update 01.005.000 Improves Performance on PS4 and PS5

A new update for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops has gone live, bringing a handful of quality-of-life improvements. According to details shared by ModernWarzone, the patch focuses on responsiveness, Zombies matchmaking, and player customization settings.

The update reduces input latency on compatible high refresh rate displays, prioritises PlayStation 5 hosts in Zombies matches, and introduces a new option that lets players disable the visibility of other users’ custom emblems.

  • Reduced input latency for displays that support 120Hz or higher refresh rates.

Zombies

  • Zombies now prioritises PlayStation 5 hosts.
  • Zombies matches no longer fall back to PlayStation 4 hosts.

Quality of Life

  • Added a Custom Emblem Editor setting.
    • Players can now enable or disable the visibility of other players’ custom emblems.

Update Version 01.005.000 is now available for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops. Originally released on PlayStation 3 in 2010, the game was brought to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 in July 2026 as a direct port developed by Iron Galaxy in partnership with Activision, featuring the original campaign, multiplayer, Zombies, and crossplay support between both PlayStation platforms.
