Call of Duty WWII and Mafia III Are Free on UK PSN

by Ali Haider

Call of Duty: WWII and Mafia III are currently appearing as free games on the PlayStation Store in some UK and European PSN regions, allowing users to redeem them without paying.

The listings appear to be the result of a PlayStation Store error rather than a confirmed promotion from Sony. Both games can currently be redeemed by users in the affected regions, although there’s no indication of how long the offers will remain available.

Sony has previously made older games temporarily free on the PlayStation Store due to similar licensing or store errors, only to revoke access later. Players who redeem either game should therefore be aware that Sony could correct the listings and remove the licenses.

Mafia III was released in 2016 and follows Vietnam veteran Lincoln Clay as he builds a criminal organisation in the fictional city of New Bordeaux. Call of Duty: WWII launched in 2017 and features a World War II campaign alongside multiplayer and Nazi Zombies.

Sony has yet to confirm that either game is intentionally being offered for free. For now, the listings remain available in the affected UK and European PSN regions.
