Code Vein II: Mask of Idris will launch on September 9, 2026, adding a new post-game campaign to Bandai Namco’s action RPG. The expansion is already available for purchase and is included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions of the game.
Mask of Idris takes players into the Forsaken World, an alternate setting created from the combined passions of worlds that disappeared following changes to history. At the centre of this world is a massive, constantly rotating spindle that draws emotions from different times and places, creating a threat that could eventually affect the real world.
Players will encounter Liv Voda during the expansion, a guardian of time and space who is described as having a combative personality. The new story is designed as post-game content, meaning players must meet specific requirements before they can access it.
To begin the Mask of Idris campaign, players must have reached the Luna Fraterna ending in the main CODE VEIN II story and completed the sub-mission Valentin’s request.
Bandai Namco will also release Free Update Version 2.0 alongside the expansion. The update will introduce additional content, including features allowing players to explore the post-game world together with their partners. Further details about the free update are expected to be announced later.
CODE VEIN II’s combat system revolves around collecting blood from defeated enemies to unlock powerful abilities. Players can use Blood Codes to shape their combat strategies, while weapons and equipment known as Jails provide additional options for dealing with enemies and bosses.
The game also features a Partner System that allows players to switch between 2 forms of combat during gameplay. Character customisation remains another major part of the experience, with the Revenant Hunter able to be customised through options covering body type, hairstyles, facial expressions, accessories, makeup and more.
Players can also visit hot springs throughout the game to view their character under different lighting conditions and use Photo Mode to capture their creations.
CODE VEIN II: Mask of Idris launches on September 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
