Conan Exiles Enhanced Launches With UE5 Upgrade

by Greg Martin

Funcom has released Conan Exiles Enhanced on Steam, delivering a major overhaul for the long-running survival title through a full transition to Unreal Engine 5. Developed in collaboration with Inflexion Games, the update is available at no additional cost to all current and future Steam owners, marking the most significant technical upgrade in the game’s eight-year history.

The enhanced version introduces sweeping improvements across visuals, performance, and user interface design. Environments, character models, lighting, and visual effects have all been upgraded, while performance has been optimized to target 60fps or higher across a range of graphical settings on most PC configurations. The update also includes improved support for Steam Deck, alongside various quality-of-life changes aimed at refining the overall experience.

One of the most notable additions is the integration of the game’s two major regions into a single connected world. Players who own the Isle of Siptah expansion can now travel seamlessly between it and the Exiled Lands without needing to create a new character or select a map at the start. Multiplayer servers have also been updated to support both areas simultaneously, expanding the scale of shared worlds.

The release arrives just ahead of the game’s 8-year anniversary on May 8, underscoring the continued support for a title that has attracted more than 15 million players since its original launch in 2018. According to Funcom, this upgrade consolidates years of post-launch content into a unified experience built on modern technology.

Conan Exiles Enhanced is currently available only on Steam, with no confirmed plans for rollout on consoles, the Epic Games Store, or the Windows Store. However, the developers have indicated that additional platform releases are being considered for the future.
