Crimson Desert Update 1.08.00 Introduces Ponds, New Pets, and Tool Slots

Pearl Abyss has released Crimson Desert update 1.08.00, bringing a large batch of new gameplay features, quality-of-life improvements, combat adjustments, and bug fixes. The patch introduces new pond systems, additional pets, expanded mount functionality, and a dedicated tool equipment slot alongside a huge list of fixes across gameplay, UI, graphics, and controls.

One of the standout additions is the Baby Wyvern pet, which will eventually become mountable in a future update. Players can also build ponds, release fish into them, and interact with expanded pet systems. Meanwhile, PC and Mac users gain new graphics options including ray-traced shadows and multiple rendering fixes.

New Additions

Tool Slot System

  • Added a dedicated tool equipment slot
  • Supported tools include:
    • Logging axe
    • Mallet
    • Shovel
    • Broom
    • Scythe
    • Pickaxe
    • Drill/chainsaw
    • Fan
  • Tool slot appears below the secondary weapon slot in the quickslot menu
  • Mask and circlet quickslots moved to the Armor tab
  • Quick Swap now switches to previously drawn equipment

Pond System

  • Added ponds to:
    • Howling Hill
    • Pailune Camp
  • Players can build ponds through pond construction missions
  • Fish can be released directly from inventory or through pond management mode
  • Multiple fish of the same species gradually increase population counts
  • Added zoom controls while managing ponds
  • Fish can die if pond capacity is exceeded
  • Legendary fish permanently remain in ponds regardless of lifespan or capacity
  • Legendary fish can no longer be sold, discarded, or consumed
  • Previously removed legendary fish have been restored to player inventories

Pets and Mounts

  • Added 20 new small animal pet species
  • Added Baby Wyvern pets
  • Baby Wyverns will become mountable in a future update
  • Wild Wyverns can now temporarily function as mounts after being subdued
  • Increased the number of animals usable as mounts

Character and Combat Additions

  • Kliff can now use muskets and shotguns
  • Added a skill equivalent to “Focused Aerial Roll” for Damiane and Oongka

Crimson Desert launched globally on March 19, 2026, for PC, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Developed and published by Pearl Abyss, the open-world fantasy action game follows mercenary leader Kliff across the war-torn continent of Pywel with a focus on fast-paced melee combat, traversal mechanics, and large-scale exploration.
