The developer shared a post on the game’s official X account confirming the upcoming update and highlighting an official illustration created for the Edgerunners 2 tie-in.

In a separate post, the developer thanked Taisei Uchida for Original Art, Yukiko Kakita for Ink & Paint Check, and Yuichiro Tozawa for Special Effects for their contributions to the official illustration for the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5).
The posts suggest that the update will have a connection to the upcoming anime season, although CD Projekt Red has yet to detail the specific content or gameplay changes planned for the patch.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 is scheduled to premiere worldwide on Netflix on October 20, 2026. Produced in collaboration with Studio Trigger, the new season will return to Night City with a new storyline and cast of characters.
