Danganronpa 2×2 has been delayed and will now launch in early 2027, according to comments made during an Anime Expo panel.
The update was shared by RPG Site editor James Galizio, who was attending the event. Posting on Bluesky, Galizio said, “Danganronpa 2×2 has been delayed to Early 2027.”
In a follow-up post, Galizio quoted series creator Kazutaka Kodaka, who addressed the delay by saying, “It wasn’t my fault for the delay, but don’t worry we really mean it’s coming early next year. In the meantime you can play GTA VI, The Hundred Line and Shuten Order.”
No additional reason for the delay was provided during the panel.
Danganronpa 2×2 is being developed by Gemdrops and Too Kyo Games and published by Spike Chunsoft. The title is a reimagining of Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, featuring an enhanced version of the original story alongside an entirely new alternate narrative with different victims, culprits and murder mysteries.
The game is currently in development for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Following the delay, it is now expected to launch in early 2027.
