Danganronpa 2×2 will launch on January 14, 2027, in North America and Europe for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Spike Chunsoft also released a new introduction trailer showcasing Slayhem Mode, which offers a completely different storyline based on Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair.
Danganronpa 2×2 gives players two ways to experience the events of the second mainline game. Original Mode retells Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair with enhanced visuals and an updated presentation, while Slayhem Mode uses the same basic setting and characters to tell an entirely new story.
Both modes are available from the beginning, allowing players to choose between the updated version of the original scenario and the newly created Slayhem storyline.
The game retains the series’ signature combination of investigation and high-speed Class Trials. Players will investigate murders, collect evidence and challenge contradictions in arguments as they attempt to determine who is responsible for each killing.
Spike Chunsoft is also offering a limited Psycho Tropical Vacation Package alongside the standard edition. The package includes the game, a reversible Psycho Tropical Hat, Psycho Tropical Monokuma and Monomi figures, the Danganronpa 2×2 soundtrack and a clamshell-style outer box.
Players who preorder the Psycho Tropical Vacation Package directly through the Spike Chunsoft Official Store will also receive an exclusive flight tag that can be used as a keychain.
The standard edition is priced at $59.99 / €59.99, while the Psycho Tropical Vacation Package costs $139.99 / €139.99. The game is a single-player visual novel/adventure developed by Gemdrops, with Spike Chunsoft handling production.
Preorders for both editions are now available. The physical standard edition is planned for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, while Xbox Series X|S will receive a digital release alongside the PC versions.
