The latest Dragon’s Dogma 2 update introduces several major changes to the save system, combat, Pawns, vocations, and user interface. Arisen can now maintain up to three adventure save slots, while each slot contains Autosave, Interim Save, and Last Inn Rest Save data.
The update also expands the number of assignable weapon skills from four to six and adds new Pawn commands, including Explore and High Five. Numerous vocation adjustments, enemy changes, performance options, and bug fixes are included across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam.
Patch Notes
Save System Adjustments
- Expanded the number of save slots for each Arisen from one to three.
- Added three types of saved data to each save slot:
- Autosave
- Interim Save
- Last Inn Rest Save
- Loading the Last Inn Rest Save will no longer delete Autosave or Interim Save data.
- Added the date and time of the last save to the save screen.
- Added a function to skip the opening part of the story when replaying the game.
Dragonsplague Adjustments
- Added Dragonsbaulk Draught as an item that can cure Dragonsplague.

UI Adjustments
- Added equipment filters.
- Added the ability to check materials required for future Equipment Enhancement steps.

- Increased the maximum number of items that can be given to a Pawn when dismissing them to 99, excluding some special items.
- Added the number of times the Eternal Ferrystone has been used to the Adventure Logbook.
- Improved the Button Mapping screen layout.
- Added a keyboard control type that allows weapon skills to be activated with a single button.
- Added a keyboard control type that allows weapon skills to be switched with a single button.
- Added additional Warfarer equipment functions, including the ability to unequip weapons, change weapon order, and swap or compare equipped weapons.
- Shield stats will now be displayed when changing equipment order as a Warfarer if only a shield is equipped.
- Added the ability to cancel and redo item selection when delivering items for quests.
Pawn Adjustments
- Added the Explore Pawn command, activated by holding the Go command button.
- Added an option to toggle the Explore command on or off.
- Added the High Five Pawn command, activated by holding the To Me command button.
- Added an option to toggle the High Five command on or off.
- Pawns can now grapple enemies and draw their attention.
- Pawns can now interfere with enemy attacks when the Arisen is downed.
- Pawns can now protect the Arisen when they are unable to move.
- Pawns can now suggest using large boulders when enemies are grouped together.
- Pawns can now lure enemies towards areas where the environment can be used.
- Pawns can now perform follow-up attacks against enemies knocked back by the Arisen.
- Pawns grappling large enemies can now pull the Arisen up and allow them to jump higher.
- Pawns are more likely to prioritise enemies targeting the Arisen when the player is using a ranged vocation.
- Pawns carrying an incapacitated Pawn will now react to the situation, including putting the carried Pawn down when in danger.
- Pawns will now attack and provide support more quickly.
- Pawns will avoid or guard against attacks more effectively.
- Pawns are temporarily invincible while being revived by the Arisen.
- Pawns have a shorter hitstop when landing a charged Warrior attack.
- Pawns can more easily catch the Arisen after they fall from a great height during battle.
- Pawns afflicted with Dragonsplague can stun large enemies by attacking their legs.
- Pawns afflicted with Dragonsplague can attack smaller enemies without consuming stamina for a limited time.
- Pawns afflicted with Dragonsplague can make enemies more susceptible to being thrown off balance by attacking them while they are already stunned.
- Pawns afflicted with Dragonsplague accumulate the loss gauge at a slower rate.
- Tomes used or discarded to learn a specialisation will now be available at the Scrap Store.
- The main Pawn will now bring back items dropped by enemies they defeated while in another world.
Action Adjustments
- Increased the number of assignable weapon skills from four to six.
- Reduced the likelihood of flinching again for a period after being flinched by an attack.
- Enemies are less likely to target the Arisen while they are crawling.
- Being attacked while downed will now cause the Arisen to get up immediately.
- Stamina recovery items used while exhausted now take effect instantly.
- Extended the invincibility period when being revived with a Wakestone.
Fighter Adjustments
- Adjusted Deflect when used against ranged attacks.
- Made Blink Strike easier to connect with enemies.
- Adjusted Tusk Toss timing to reduce failed casts when the charge is complete.
- Adjusted the timing of some attack skills to connect more smoothly with Tusk Toss.
- Adjusted Counter Slash to prioritise the enemy that just deflected the attack.
- Added on-the-fly directional adjustment to Riotous Fury when other enemies are nearby.
- Adjusted Riotous Fury’s final upward strike to slightly lift enemies into the air.
- Increased the distance of Riotous Fury’s first attack.
- Reduced the likelihood of enemy attacks causing the target to flinch.
Archer Adjustments
- Increased arrow nocking speed for Exploding Shot, Drenching Shot, Tarring Shot, and Blighting Shot.
- Increased Dire Arrow damage.
- Changed Front Kick and Leaping Punt so the user is launched backwards when performed on the ground.
- Changed Front Kick and Leaping Punt so the user can be launched backwards through a button input.
- The Arisen will face the enemy they kicked off after touching the ground following Front Kick or Leaping Punt when there is no controller stick input.
Thief Adjustments
- Increased the stamina consumed by Formless Feint.
- Pressing the Vocation Action button during Formless Feint will throw the attacking enemy off balance.
- Correctly timed attacks that throw an enemy off balance will temporarily disable continuous stamina consumption.
- Perfect timing will reduce stamina consumption for weapon skills.
Mage and Sorcerer Adjustments
- Added the Magick Barrier core skill.
- Magick Barrier creates a magical barrier that protects against enemy attacks when the Vocation Action button is pressed.
- Magick Barrier stamina consumption varies depending on the weapon.
- Increased maximum camera movement speed while casting Flagration.
- Added the ability to cancel Anodyne’s motion through a button input.
- Extended the incantation speed for Prescient Flare.
- Extended the grace period for Prescient Flare’s magical orbs to explode.
- Reduced the time required for Prescient Flare’s orbs to explode after reaching their maximum state.
- Added a different sound effect when Prescient Flare’s orbs explode at maximum state.
- Increased the value required to amplify Prescient Flare’s magical orbs.
- Extended the time before Prescient Flare’s orbs fade if they are not attacked.
- Prescient Flare’s magical orbs will no longer amplify when hit by another cast of Prescient Flare.
- Adjusted the camera direction when casting Seism.
Warrior Adjustments
- Mighty Sweep’s charged state can now be maintained when using Barge.
- Reduced forward movement during airborne Stonesplitter to make attacks easier to connect.
- Made the light attack input timing for Chain of Blows more consistent.
- Increased the forward reach of Mighty Sweep and Stonesplitter attacks.
- Increased light attack speed when clinging to a foe.
- Adjusted hitstop for strong attacks while clinging to a foe.
- Changed the motion for powerful successive strikes against large enemies.
- Made damage reduction timing while charging Skyward Sunder, Rending Sweep, and Knoll Breaker more consistent.
- Adjusted knockback distance and height for attacks that launch enemies into the air.
- Increased Savage Lash damage.
- Made the Tidal Fury counterattack available sooner.
- Reduced recovery time after a failed Tidal Fury counterattack.
- Increased the forward reach of charged Mighty Sweep, Skyward Sunder, Rending Sweep, and Savage Lash attacks.
Mystic Spearhand Adjustments
- Adjusted Redouted Bolt timing to reduce failed casts when the charge is complete.
- Increased the button input window for Scatering Bolt to Quik Fot combos.
- Increased Magike Cut, Seching Blade, and Magike Sperepelote damage against enemies bound by Forbeding Bolt or Scatering Bolt.
- Increased Skiedragoun’s Fangtooth damage.
- Adjusted Wild Furie’s targeting to prioritise nearby enemies after the first attack.
- Adjusted Magike Sperepelote so the camera centre does not shift during attacks.
- Changed Mirour Vesture so it can now be charged and cast.
- An uncharged Mirour Vesture barrier affects only the Arisen.
- A charged Mirour Vesture barrier affects the Arisen and party members.
- A charged Mirour Vesture cast also performs an attack that causes nearby enemies to flinch.
- Added durability to Mirour Vesture’s magical barrier.
- Mirour Vesture’s barrier dissipates when its durability reaches zero.
- Greatly increased the duration of Mirour Vesture’s magical barrier.
- Mirour Vesture’s barrier now dissipates quickly when not in combat.
- Increased the range for applying Mirour Vesture to Pawns.
- Increased Mirour Vesture’s stamina consumption.
- Reduced natural stamina recovery while Mirour Vesture’s barrier is active.
Magick Archer Adjustments
- Consecutive offensive weapon skills used without aiming will continue targeting the first enemy as long as they remain within a certain distance.
- Skill activation input is now accepted from the moment aiming begins.
- Reduced the range of Vimtaking Arrow’s magical arrows when not locked onto a Pawn.
- Reduced the damage of Vimtaking Arrow’s magical arrows when not locked onto a Pawn.
Trickster Adjustments
- Added the Buoyant Brume core skill.
- Buoyant Brume allows the Trickster to float temporarily by pressing the jump button again while jumping.
- Reduced the Simulacrum health reduction when it moves too far from the caster while using Effigial Incense.
- Wolf-type enemies entering the Fickle Floor illusion will now flinch, excluding some enemies such as Garms.
- Golems will now flinch when affected by Dragon’s Delusion.
- Archer, Mage, and Sorcerer Pawns can now attack enemies through the illusory walls created by Delusory Screen.
- Adjusted the camera direction when casting Dragon’s Delusion.
Other Combat Adjustments
- Fighter, Thief, Warrior, and Mystic Spearhand skills that can be used mid-air now allow position adjustments with the control stick.
- Adjusted the camera direction during powerful successive strikes for Fighter, Thief, Warrior, Mystic Spearhand, and unarmed combat.
- Adjusted enemy blowback when using Gouging Skewer as a Fighter or powerful successive strikes as a Warrior or during unarmed combat.
- Added Dash Attack and Charge Attack to unarmed combat.
- Shortened the time before an enemy can be grabbed again after jumping and releasing the grab.
- Reduced recovery time for unarmed weak attacks while clinging to or pinning down an enemy.
- Made it easier to draw the attention of a large enemy when grabbing them.
Enemy Adjustments
- Adjusted the accumulation value of the blighted debilitation caused by enemy attacks.
- Improved jump actions for Goblins, Hobgoblins, Choppers, Knackers, Saurians, Asps, and Serpents.
- Adjusted attack tracking for several enemy types to make attacks easier to avoid.
- Changed the Arisen’s reaction to certain attacks that previously created difficult recovery situations.
- Made attacks against the tails of Saurians, Asps, Rattlers, Magma Scales, and Serpents easier to land.
- Adjusted Slime, Ooze, and Sludge Pawns so they attack from positions suited to their vocation.
- Increased the likelihood of attacks hitting Slime, Ooze, and Sludge.
- Increased holy attack damage against Skeletons, Stout Undead, Phantoms, Phantasms, and Specters.
- Added expressions to Minotaurs and Goreminotaurs to make it clearer when they hit an obstacle while dashing.
- Adjusted the frequency of certain Drake attacks when their health is low.
- Changed Drake targeting to make it easier to aim for body parts other than the heart when the heart is not exposed.
Bug Fixes
Vocations
- Fixed an Archer bug where Dire Arrow could cause downed mid-sized or larger enemies to immediately jump back up when the arrow was released.
- Fixed a Thief bug where Twin Fangs used in mid-air could instantly teleport the player to nearby enemy locations.
- Fixed a Warrior bug where Goring Lunge dealt no damage to small enemies against a wall.
- Fixed a Warrior bug where opponents were not blown back by powerful successive strikes.
- Fixed a Warrior camera bug that could cause the camera to clip into the ground during powerful successive strikes while mounted on an enemy.
- Fixed a Mystic Spearhand bug where enemies hit by Forbeding Bolt while airborne would gradually move instead of remaining stationary.
- Fixed a Magick Archer bug where Bartizan’s counterattack caused enemies to fall instead of being knocked back.
- Fixed a Magick Archer bug where an enemy’s appearance could become unnatural after being hit by Sagittate Downpour.
- Fixed a Trickster bug where using Espial Incense on an oxcart while keeping the Simulacrum stationary could cause crude polygons and the ground underneath to appear.
Pawns
- Fixed a bug where the main Pawn would not respond to a support Pawn’s question, ending the conversation.
- Fixed a bug where a Pawn’s gaze could point in extreme directions, causing visual issues with their eyes.
- Fixed a bug where Pawns did not gain quest knowledge after completing Tensions on the Highroad.
- Fixed a bug where Pawns would not help when using a ballista against dragons.
Enemies
- Fixed a bug affecting facial expressions for Harpies, Venin Harpies, Gore Harpies, and Succubi.
UI
- Fixed a bug where stat boosts from rings equipped by support Pawns were not reflected on the status details screen.
- Fixed several inaccuracies in pause menu descriptions.
- Fixed a bug where the Harve Portcrystal’s map location differed from its actual location.
Quests
- Fixed a bug in Mercy among Thieves where Hugo’s movements and camera timing could become out of sync.
- Fixed a bug in Mercy among Thieves where Thor could remain at the hideout entrance after the quest was completed.
- Fixed a bug in Monster Culling where dialogue from Harve Village soldiers fighting in the cave could play while the player was above ground.
- Fixed a bug in Every Rose Has Its Thorn where the interact button could appear when looking through the peephole even though the action would not progress the quest.
- Fixed a bug in Dreams Apart where the quest log could incorrectly reflect progress when conditions preventing progression were met.
Other Fixes
- Fixed incorrect double quotation mark directions in some text.
- Fixed an issue where Threshing Blaze dealt less damage than expected for characters with low magick.
