Drunken Goddess Reflux Developer Cancels Public Demo Over AI Cloning Concerns

by Ali Haider

The developer of Drunken Goddess Reflux has canceled its planned public demo over concerns that AI tools could be used to replicate the game’s presentation and gameplay before its release. Alliance Arts announced the change on October 16, replacing the public demo scheduled for October 19 with closed online play sessions for a limited number of participants.

In its announcement, Alliance Arts explained that the original plan involved releasing the demo with restrictions on posting and streaming gameplay footage. However, the team concluded that it lacked the resources to properly enforce those rules. The developer also raised concerns that publicly available demo content could be used to create imitations of the game with AI or other tools before launch.

The company apologized to players who had been looking forward to trying the demo and said it still wanted to offer an opportunity to play before release. The replacement sessions will be available to a limited number of participants who review and agree to the participation requirements, including rules governing gameplay videos and livestreams.

Applications are now open through the game’s official Discord server, where participants can also find details about the sessions and how to take part. Alliance Arts plans to collect player impressions and feedback through the community.

Drunken Goddess Reflux is scheduled to launch on December 8, 2026, for Windows PC via Steam. Developed by WHO YOU and Alliance Arts, the game is set in a demonic bar in the underworld, where players must survive a dangerous drinking game resembling Russian roulette while attempting to uncover the resident demon’s secrets.
