Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced that Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered will launch worldwide on October 1, 2026, bringing one of the most celebrated entries in the long-running Musou series back to modern platforms.
The remaster is set to release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Alongside the announcement, Koei Tecmo unveiled a new trailer highlighting updated gameplay features, expanded content, and the return of the game’s popular cooperative multiplayer mode.
While preserving the large-scale 1-versus-1,000 battles that defined the original release, Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered introduces several new gameplay mechanics designed to add more depth to combat. Players can now perform evasive maneuvers to avoid attacks or reposition during battle, while the new Just Evasion system rewards precise timing with immediate counterattacks.
Another addition is Perfect Power Guard, a defensive mechanic that allows players to deflect incoming strikes and briefly stun enemies, creating opportunities for follow-up attacks. Omega Force has also added a Weapon Fusion system that lets players combine equipment, transferring elemental properties and special abilities to create stronger custom weapons.
The remaster includes both the original story content and a selection of new scenarios featuring a large roster of unlockable officers. According to Koei Tecmo, the additional content expands the game’s campaign while remaining faithful to the original experience.
One of the most requested features is also making a return. Offline two-player multiplayer will once again be available through split-screen play, allowing players to cooperate or compete across Musou Mode, Free Mode, and VS Mode.
Pre-orders are available now, with Koei Tecmo offering both a Standard Edition and a Digital Deluxe Edition. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the base game, 42 additional weapons, six Secret Teachings, the Wind Scroll and Tiger Amulet items, an Officer Concept Art Collection, and 42 retro costumes inspired by the original Dynasty Warriors 3 release.
Players who pre-order either edition before September 30, 2026, will also receive the Retro-Style Red Hare Saddle bonus item.
Originally released during the PlayStation 2 era, Dynasty Warriors 3 is widely regarded as one of the franchise’s most influential entries. With updated visuals, new gameplay systems, additional content, and the return of local multiplayer, Dynasty Warriors 3 Complete Edition Remastered is set to arrive on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
