EA Sports FC 27 and NBA 2K27 have received more expensive Ultimate Plus and Ultra Editions, respectively, for 149.99 US Dollars.
EA and 2K are raising the ceiling for premium sports game editions this year, with both publishers introducing new 149.99 US Dollar versions of EA Sports FC 27 and NBA 2K27. The former now offers an Ultimate Plus Edition, while the latter has debuted an Ultra Edition, both positioned above the previously highest-priced 99.99 US Dollar Ultimate Edition and Deluxe Edition, respectively.
The new premium tiers are clearly aimed at players who spend the most time in each game’s live-service modes, offering additional premium currency, season passes, and exclusive long-term rewards beyond what was previously available.
Both the Ultimate Plus Edition and the Ultimate Edition of EA Sports FC 27 include up to seven days of early access beginning September 18, 2026, as well as an 85+ OVR International ICON Player Item, an additional Football Ultimate Team Player Evolution Slot, Career Mode bonuses such as three ICONs/Heroes, 5-star staff members, and cosmetic rewards for The Grounds. However, the Ultimate Plus Edition increases the value proposition by including Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5, compared to only Season 1 in the standard Ultimate Edition. Players also receive up to 10,000 FC Points distributed over five monthly drops instead of 6,000 FC Points spread across three months.
The Ultimate Plus Edition of EA Sports FC 27 also includes exclusive content in the form of a Hall of FUT Direct Player Pick, allowing players to choose one footballer from Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loïc Rémy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia. Career Mode additionally receives a Dynamic OVR Pre-Season Boost, while owners of Ultimate Plus also get an extra 99 PHY Stat Evolution for EA Sports FC 26, alongside the 99 Dribbling Evolution and 93+ ICON Player Pick bonuses already available through Ultimate Edition pre-orders.
It’s worth noting that the Ultimate Plus Edition will only be sold during the early bird pre-order period from July 23 through August 31, 2026, making it a limited-time offering. The regular Ultimate Edition, meanwhile, remains available through launch.
NBA 2K27 follows a similar strategy with its new Ultra Edition. Like the Deluxe Edition, it includes up to seven days of early access, the pre-order bonus pack, and numerous MyTEAM and MyCAREER items. Both editions also include the same launch MyTEAM content, featuring the Full ’27 Series 1 Team Selection, Triple Threat Park Free Agent Pack, five Series 1 Packs, and a two-hour 2XP Coin, alongside MyCAREER bonuses such as Skill Boosts, Gatorade Boosts, Victor Wembanyama and Caitlin Clark jerseys, and other cosmetics.
The Ultra Edition’s biggest upgrades come through premium progression content. Players receive 135,000 VC, compared to 100,000 VC in the Deluxe Edition, along with Season 1 Pro Pass and the Summer Pass, which grants access to Seasons 7 through 9 Pro Passes. MyTEAM players also receive exclusive long-term rewards unavailable in the Deluxe Edition, including guaranteed 98 OVR and Invincible player cards delivered later in the game’s lifecycle through The Exchange.
