EA Sports FC 27 Launches September 25 With New Modes

by Greg Martin

Electronic Arts has officially unveiled EA Sports FC 27, confirming that the next entry in its football series will launch worldwide on September 25, 2026, with early access beginning on September 18 for eligible editions.

The publisher also revealed the cover for the new Ultimate Plus Edition, which features Real Madrid teammates Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham. Mbappé appears across all three editions of the game, while Bellingham returns to the cover of an EA Sports FC title for the third time.

EA Sports FC 27 introduces several new features across its major game modes, led by The Grounds, a new social football hub that expands the Clubs experience beyond traditional matches. Players can take part in casual kickabouts and competitive events across three districts inspired by football culture, while developing and customising their footballer with guidance from mentors including Mbappé, Chloe Kelly, Paulo Dybala and Alex Hunter.

Career Mode has also received a significant overhaul through a rebuilt transfer market powered by TransferRoom. EA says transfers will be influenced by factors such as club finances, player form, ratings and potential, while new negotiation mechanics and dynamic bidding wars aim to make transfers feel more realistic.

Football Ultimate Team is also expanding with the introduction of the FUT Gallery. The new feature allows players to build collections of player items from different clubs, leagues, nations and FUT campaigns, increasing their Gallery Level to unlock rewards throughout the season.

Gameplay has also been refined across all modes following community feedback. EA highlighted improvements including dynamic corners, enhanced attacking movement, rebalanced AI defending and greater overall control and fluidity on the pitch.

Pre-orders for EA Sports FC 27 are now live across PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The new Ultimate Plus Edition, available for a limited time until August 31, includes up to 7 days of early access, Premium Passes for Seasons 1 to 5, 10,000 FC Points distributed over 5 months, exclusive Ultimate Team content, Career Mode bonuses, cosmetic items for The Grounds and several rewards for EA Sports FC 26 owners.

EA Play members will also receive a 10-hour early access trial beginning on September 18, while EA Play Pro subscribers will receive full day one access to the EA Play Pro Edition.

EA Sports FC 27 will feature more than 21,000 players, 800 clubs and national teams, 130 stadiums and 35 leagues, including competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, Premier League, Bundesliga, LALIGA EA SPORTS and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
