The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time may receive a themed Pro controller instead of a Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Game journalist MikeOdysseyYT took to Twitter/X to share that a Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time themed Pro Controller may be set for release alongside the upcoming remake instead of a themed Nintendo Switch 2 console. Fellow journalist necrolipe mentioned that he’s already seen the aforementioned controller, but doesn’t know whether a themed console is also planned.
According to necrolipe, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Pro Controller design will sport green colored tips, similar to those of the Splatoon themed controller, mixed with gold. The Triforce crest is said to be centered between the – and + buttons.
Nintendo has yet to announce a release date or pre-order details for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Any themed hardware announcement is expected to happen simultaneously. A recent GameStop listing led to speculation about pre-orders after it briefly displayed an August 4 date. The discovery was shared by Reddit user Naive_Associate_15, who noticed the date had appeared on GameStop’s product page before it was quickly taken down. The user also claimed the retailer had changed the title of the listing, further fuelling speculation that the information may have been published ahead of schedule.
If accurate, the reported August 4 pre-order date would align with Nintendo’s recent marketing approach. Previous first-party titles, including Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World, received full trailers roughly three months before their respective launches.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake was announced in June, 2026, and is scheduled to launch later this year exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. According to Nintendo, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be fully rebuilt for Nintendo Switch 2 while preserving the core story and structure that made the original one of the most influential games ever released. Players will once again follow Link on a journey across time as he attempts to stop Ganondorf and save the kingdom of Hyrule.
