Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Session Timings and Download Size Confirmed

by Ali Haider

FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. have opened registrations for the closed network test of Elden Ring Nightreign, a standalone multiplayer co-op PvE experience set in the Elden Ring universe. The test is scheduled to run from February 14 to February 17 and will allow selected players to experience a portion of the game ahead of its full launch. While only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players are eligible for this test, the feedback gathered will help shape the final version of the game.

The network test download size is reported to be 9.414 GB, and the version being used is identified as 01.000.000. Registrations for the network test opened on January 10 at 6 AM PST and closed on January 20 at 6 AM PST.

Elden Ring Nightreign network test is structured into several sessions to evaluate the game’s online performance and co-op features. Session 1 is scheduled for February 14 from 3 AM to 6 AM PT, followed by Session 2 on the same day from 7 PM to 10 PM PT. Session 3 will take place on February 15 from 11 AM to 2 PM PT, with two more sessions planned for February 16: Session 4 from 3 AM to 6 AM PT and Session 5 from 7 PM to 10 PM PT. This staggered schedule is designed to conduct large-scale network load tests and verify various technical aspects of the game, while allowing teams of three players to team up during each session.

Elden Ring Nightreign offers a fresh multiplayer co-op adventure set in a universe parallel to the main Elden Ring storyline. Players can choose from eight distinct characters, each with unique abilities and powerful ultimates. The adventure takes place in an ever-evolving environment called Limveld, where the night cycle, known as the Night’s Tide, gradually shrinks the playable area and increases the difficulty of encounters. At the end of each night, players will face challenging bosses, culminating in a climactic battle against a powerful Nightlord.

The game emphasizes cooperative gameplay, with teams of three encouraged to combine their abilities to overcome supernatural enemies and navigate the dynamic map. Successful runs during the test are expected to reward players with relics, which can be used to upgrade and customize their characters. The procedural nature of the levels ensures that each session provides a new experience, making every playthrough uniquely challenging.

Elden Ring Nightreign is set to launch in 2025 on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
