Epic Games Announces Unreal Engine 6 With New Rocket League Tech Showcase

by Salal Awan

Epic Games has officially announced Unreal Engine 6, offering fans an early look at the company’s next-generation technology during the Rocket League Paris Major esports event.

As part of the reveal, Epic showcased gameplay footage from an updated version of Rocket League running on the new engine. The demonstration provided a first glimpse at how the long-running competitive title is evolving visually and technically under Unreal Engine 6, though the company has not yet confirmed a release window for the upgraded version.

Rocket League remains one of the most recognizable esports titles in the industry, combining arcade-style vehicular gameplay with soccer-inspired competitive mechanics. Since becoming free-to-play, the game has continued to maintain a large player base through its fast-paced matches and high mechanical skill ceiling.

The Rocket League footage shown during the Paris Major appears to serve as one of the first public demonstrations of those ambitions in action.
