Fable Will Feature Five Difficulty Levels And Custom Options

by Ali Haider

Fable will feature five difficulty levels alongside a fully customisable difficulty option, according to settings shown in a screenshot shared on the Fable subreddit. Players will reportedly be able to select a preset difficulty or independently adjust a range of combat parameters.

The screenshot comes from a work-in-progress PC build and shows the difficulty menu under the game’s settings. It includes a Custom option alongside preset difficulties, allowing players to alter individual gameplay elements rather than being restricted to a single difficulty profile.

The available settings shown include enemy damage, enemy durability, enemy aggression, reaction windows, Health Orb potency, cooldown speed, accessible parry, explosion protection and block auto-resume. Players can also adjust whether unblockable attacks have armour.

Fable Offers Five Difficulty Presets

The game reportedly features five difficulty levels. The settings shown in the screenshot identify Hero as the default difficulty, with other difficulties identified as Story, Hero, Legend, and Master among the available presets.

The Custom setting is designed for players who want more control over individual aspects of combat. Rather than simply making enemies stronger or weaker across the board, players can reportedly adjust specific parameters to create their preferred experience.

The screenshot also shows options for restoring the difficulty settings to their default values, allowing players to revert any changes made to their custom configuration.

Fable is being developed by Playground Games and is scheduled to launch on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X and S, PC and PlayStation 5. The game will also be available day one through Xbox Game Pass.
